Ok, this is not timed correctly for the "normal" Christmas shopper, but if you live near Scott Air Force Base, or are relocating to Scott Air Force Base, you'll be thankful you got this warning early rather than later.
Most malls have a certain degree of highway infrastructure surrounding them that it's not TOO bad to visit them during the holiday season. Please note that St. Clair Square, where much of your Christmas shopping will probably be done here, is pretty horrific to access if you are comign from the South on IL-159. You see, 159 is a 4-lane route with many traffic signals, more the closer you get to the Mall. Unless you complete your shopping during the months leading up to Thanksgiving day of any particular year, you may find yourself spending much more time in traffic than you care to even think about. Just get it done early and enjoy your Christmas for once!
